Abstract A class of third order differential equations with a sublinear neutral term of the type a(t)b(t)x(t)+p(t)xα(τ(t))′′′+q(t)xγ(σ(t))=0 $$\begin{array}{} \displaystyle \left( a(t)\left( b(t)\left[ x(t)+p(t)x^{\alpha }(\tau (t))\right] ^{\prime }\right) ^{\prime }\right) ^{\prime }+q(t)x^{\gamma }(\sigma (t))=0 \end{array}$$ is considered. Some oscillation criteria are presented to improve and complement those in the literature. Several examples are established to illustrate the main results.
