In the article “Compound Stimuli Reveal the Structure of Visual Motion Selectivity in Macaque MT Neurons,” by Andrew D. Zaharia, Robbe L. T. Goris, J. Anthony Movshon, and Eero P. Simoncelli, which published online on October 11, 2019, a passage of text in the Discussion section needed clarification. The sentence on page 16, “Linear weighting alone in the velocity-separable model is sufficient to capture the unimodality of constant frequency plaid (pattern) direction tuning, but not in the frequency-separable model (Fig. 11A, lightest red and blue traces, respectively).” is modified to be: “If the velocity plaid responses are not included during model fitting, linear weighting alone in the velocity-separable model is sufficient to capture the unimodality of constant frequency plaid (pattern) direction tuning, but not in the frequencyseparable model (unpublished data). However, when all data are included, linear weighting alone is not sufficient for either model to capture this unimodality (Fig. 11A, lightest red and blue traces).” This correction does not affect the conclusions of the article. The text has been corrected in the online record.
