Preeclampsia is a devastating pregnancy disorder and a major cause of maternal and perinatal mortality. By combining previous transcriptomic results on preeclampsia with single-cell sequencing (scRNA-seq) data, we here predict distinct and partly unanticipated contributions of decidual stromal cells and uterine natural killer cells in early- and late-onset preeclampsia.
