Hypothesis- Concussion is a physiologic brain injury that produces systemic and cognitive symptoms. Following a concussion patients are in a hypermetabolic state characterized by altered cerebral blood flow (CBF). Normalization of altered CBF has been shown to be a useful marker for recovery from concussion. Graded exercise testing may be a convenient clinical measure for assessing concussion-related physiological dysfunction due to altered cerebral blood flow and for monitoring recovery.
