Expanded partnership with the medical community is a necessary strategy for reducing disparities in dental caries among young children. We are conducting a prospective multicenter longitudinal study to develop a caries risk tool to be administered in primary healthcare settings for identifying toddlers at increased caries risk, stratified by racial/ethnic identity and/or socioeconomic factors.
