Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of physeal growth resumption after bar resection and the extent and duration of growth. We sought to determine prognostic factors for successful resection, including age, gender, etiology of physeal bar, physis affected, percentage surface area affected, location within the physis, and interposition material used (fat, cranioplast, or none). Methods By retrospective chart review, we identified all patients treated by physeal bar resection in the lower extremity at our institution from 1981 to 2017.
