Background/Goal: In 2017, the prevalence rate of asthma among youth was 22.5% in the US. In comparison, Michigan’s prevalence rate was 26.2%, the seventh highest in the nation. In recognition of the various social determinants of health impacting the care of patients in Detroit, pediatrics residents formed a working group called Pediatricians Empowering and Advocating for Community Health (PEACH).
