Purpose: 87% of pregnant women across Latin America and the Caribbean had >4 prenatal visits in 2018. At these visits screening occurs to identify women at risk of transmitting an infectious disease to their fetus. Even with high access to medical care, inequalities in consistency of performing screening continues. This can lead to missed identification of infected women causing missed treatment, and ultimately, adverse outcomes for neonates.
