Purpose: Unintentional injuries are a leading cause of mortality among all ages in the United States. Physicians play a vital role in preventing injuries, however, providers across multiple fields report deficits in knowledge and training in injury prevention. This problem could be addressed by integrating education on injury prevention in the medical school curriculum, which is a concept that has been supported by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
