Introduction: Differences exist in federal, state, and local recommendations for lead screening and management. Handling divergent recommendations is difficult within a network that crosses state lines and serves a diverse population. This has resulted in poor support for screening within our EHR and consequently poor adherence to local lead testing recommendations. Clinical decision support was based on insurance requirements and displayed at the 9-month and 24-month visit, missing at-risk children who should have been tested according to local testing recommendation.
