This article seeks to show that soteriology has its own space in the field of theology. The theme of salvation is dealt with in different theological treatises, but it may constitute a specific treatise. Salvation occurs in the relationship between God and human being. That personal encounter is the place for salvation and the subject matter proper to soteriology. It is a theme that evokes reflection on other theological issues and shows the unity of theology, thanks to the synthesis proper to soteriology.
