The paper briefly describes the construction technology of the reinforced concrete dome of the sports hall Visnjik (pronounce as: Vee-sh-ny-eek) in Zadar, Croatia. The chosen technology was monolithic construction, concreted on spot on fixed formwork and scaffolding. Because the structure was double curved, the placement of the formwork and the scaffolding was very complex because each part of the formwork and the scaffolding was unique. Also, the size of the project and the relatively long construction period dictated the need for some additional analysis of loads acting on the formwork and the scaffolding during construction. Moreover, some architectural and functional requests caused additional difficulties in connections design, concreting joints and other structural details which all had to be resolved through the designed technology.
