Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) is a rare connective tissue disease with an autoimmune background. Clinically, it is characterised by manifestations shared with other connective tissue diseases; systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), and polymyositis/dermatomyositis [1, 2].
