Bronchoscopic interventions are valuable adjuncts to the pharmacologic therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). But different phenotypes of COPD patients showed different clinical responses to the same or similar therapy. According to the different phenotypes, novel interventional pulmonology techniques which were used for COPD treatments in daily clinical practice or clinical trials have been described extensively throughout our current review.
