The article discusses what the author refers to as historical misfeasance in relation to immorality, past public health-related injustices, and medical studies that were conducted by public health practitioners without participants' consent. America's Tuskegee Syphilis Study and the sexually transmitted disease (STD) Experiments in Guatemala are examined, along with state-ordered sterilizations in places such as Virginia and California.
