An editorial is presented which addresses the decision to remove a question about participants' sexual orientation from a draft of the U.S. National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants (NSOAAP) as of 2017, and it mentions services for older LGBT people. According to the article, sexual orientation data is needed to evaluate whether U.S. federally funded aging programs, nutrition programs, and caregiver support services for the elderly accurately reflect the demographics of America.
