An editorial is presented which addresses the authors' views about whether public health can help shrink a health indicators gap between the U.S. and other high-income nations, and it mentions another article which appears in the same issue of the journal and deals with health disparities and causes of death such as homicide, heart disease, and stroke in the U.S. The financial aspects of medicine in America are examined, along with health outcomes and communication.
