ABSTRACT Sun, S., 2019. Financial risk assessment of listed enterprises in marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry. In: Gong, D.; Zhu, H., and Liu, R. (eds.), Selected Topics in Coastal Research: Engineering, Industry, Economy, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 94, pp. 788–792. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208. Marine engineering equipment is the reflection of one country's comprehensive basic technology level. Besides, it is the core of the marine industrial chain. This industry owns characteristics such as large amount of frontend investment, long production cycle, expensive raw materials, great competition pressure from other counterparts all over the world, long inventory conversion cycle, and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a risk assessment on the finance of listed companies in the marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry. Thus, enterprises in this field can be aware of its own advantages and disadvantages, and make better use of the above characteristics to achieve profitable revenues. SPSS data analysis software was used in this study as an analysis tool to conduct financial risk assessments for 34 marine engineering equipment manufacturers listed in the recent years. The results show that most of the listed companies in this field have financial risks, mainly concentrated in cash flow management, liability management, and receivables. In addition, we have given corresponding constructive opinions based on the analysis results, in order to help companies to develop better.
