A 68-year-old woman presented to the hospital with a 2month history of chronic cough. She had no complications and was not immunocompromised. Computed tomography (CT) revealed only thickening of the left main bronchus (Picture A). Bronchoscopy revealed mucosal edema and a reddened left main bronchus (Picture B). Mycobacterium abscessus was identified by biopsy specimen culture. She was diagnosed with M. abscessus infection limited to the left main bronchus. The subspecies could not be determined.
