Confidence intervals for proportionality coefficient K in Rusanov’s linear dependence σ = Kr between surface tension σ and particle radius r are estimated for the first time using experimental data on the rates of small metal particle evaporation and vacancy pore shrinkage. The results are compared to earlier estimates by E.N. Vitol (1992) and thermodynamic estimates of other authors.
