Concepts of Stress Relaxation and Heterophase Structures in Ferroelectric Solid Solutions of the Perovskite Type

Photo from archive.org

Examples are given of the relaxation of internal mechanical stresses during the formation of heterophase structures in ferroelectric solid solutions 0.86BaTiO3–(0.14 − x)BaZrO3−xCaTiO3 and ((Bi0.5Na0.5)0.94Ba0.06)1−y(K0.5Nd0.5)yTiO3 of the perovskite type. The… Click to show full abstract

The conditions for elastic matching of monodomain and polydomain ferroelectric phases at x = const or y = const are analyzed. The volume concentrations of these phases are determined under conditions of complete stress relaxation.
