Abstract —The aim of this paper was comparative study of poly(tetrafluoroethylene) composites reinforced with two types of carbon fibers: based on hydroxycellulose and polyacrylonitrile. It was shown that the type of carbon filler has an insignificant effect on the physical and mechanical properties of the composite, but essentially influenced its tribological behavior. The composites based on hydroxycellulose carbon fibers had a smaller friction coefficient and wear rate, as well as a higher PV factor, than the composites reinforced with PAN-based carbon fibers.
