Abstract The temperature variation in grinding high-speed steel by means of Elbor (cubic boron nitride) wheels is considered, in conditions with and without solid lubricant. Experimental and practical values of the grinding temperature are compared. The effectiveness of the proposed solid lubricant is demonstrated.
