A method is proposed for the calculation of disk-mill profiles such that undercutting is impossible in machining helical channels of complex configuration. In this method, the channel profile is specified by a small number of reference points. Interpolation increases the number of points by factors of tens or hundreds. The best mill profile for producing the specified channel is investigated as a function of three setup parameters. In a numerical experiment, those three parameters are optimized for the mill profile.
