This paper analyzed the detent torque and holding torque of the Micro claw pole stepper motor by using FEM software based on the DOE(design of experiment) analysis method .The effects of air gap, magnet thickness, claw pole thickness and claw pole height on detent torque and holding torque were compared. Through optimization analysis, the optimal level of each factor of increasing the holding torque while decreasing the detent torque was obtained, which makes the peak-to-peak value of the detent torque decrease by 16.41% and the value of holding torque increase by 6.47%. Finally, the accuracy of the result was verified by comparing the test value and the simulation value of the motor. Through the analysis of the paper, it is found that air gap and permanent magnet thickness have the greatest influence on the detent torque of micro claw pole permanent magnet stepper motor. The influence of claw pole thickness on detent torque is second only to the magnet thickness, and the claw pole height has the least influence on detent torque.
