Shell structures of helicoidal shape are widely used in many fields of manufacturing, mechanical and civil engineering, as well as in architecture. The presented work concerns analytical and semi-analytical metodology for structure analysis of right and oblique helicoidal structures. The methodology is based on the linear theory of the thin shells. Despite the dominance of finite element analysis, analytical results are aimed to get the deeper analysis. The analytical method based on Reissner’s parametric equations (for shallow right helicoids) and the numeric-analytical method (for shallow oblique helicoids, and right helicoids as a special case) of the stress-strain analysis are presented. The results are presented in comparison with other numeric-analytical and finite element analysis results. The presented work may be of a particular interest for engineers who deal with a deep stress-strain analysis in industry or academia.
