COVID-19 has impacted most hospitals around the world, resulting in changes to daily operations and the suspension of some programs. Preceptor training is an area that has been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions. These programs have a positive impact on the retention of new RNs, which is especially important as the pandemic continues to strain morale. A 12-week, step-by-step education plan that leverages audio/video technologies such as Zoom and FaceTime was developed to preserve the positive benefits of the preceptor-preceptee relationship in the setting of COVID-19.
