Pediatric integrative medicine is an emerging field with significant potential to benefit children's health. It focuses on enhancing modern approaches to preventive health and expanding treatment options in complex or chronic conditions. The field fills important gaps in pediatric care and has accrued a robust body of supporting evidence to support its growth. This article provides an overview of pediatric integrative medicine, including background, scope of practice, strengths and challenges, safety and efficacy issues, and examples of how one might introduce integrative medicine into pediatric practice.
