Author's summary Pulmonary valve replacement is the most common operation performed in adults with congenital heart disease (CHD). There is controversy regarding the best bioprosthesis in pulmonary position. The most commonly used xenografts are the porcine and bovine pericardial valves. With our bicentric propensity matched comparison we compared the mid-long term hemodynamic and clinical performance of Carpentier Perimount Magna Ease (Edwards™; Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA, USA) a bovine pericardial bioprosthesis against the Mosaic (Medtronic™; Medtronic Inc., Minneapolis, MN, USA) a porcine bioprosthesis in pulmonary position in patients with CHD. Both bioprosthesis have similar outcomes during the first 5 years. Beyond 5 years porcine bioprosthesis have less structural valve degeneration.
