COMMENTS TO AUTHORS The title of the article "Metabolic Signaling Impairment in the Progression of Alzheimer's Disease" might suggest a review manuscript, but the draft appears more like a prospective paper. In the introduction, the authors introduced Alzheimer's disease (AD) in general and the oxidative stress theory of aging. They continue discussing the role of Nxnl1 and Nxnl2 genes in the retina and in the brain. The main body of the manuscript summarizes the results of one of the authors' recent papers (Jaillard et al., 2021), characterizing Nxnl2-/mice. The authors propose a working model of the metabolic impairment in Nxnl2-/mice and indicate Nxnl2 as a "certain" new avenue in AD research.
