The article is also confusing in several ways: 1. The authors discuss four groups in the “Results and Discussion” section, but nowhere were the groupings introduced to the reader. One has to assume from the third paragraph on the second page that they are referring to the stages of severity of ROP. 2. Nine hematological parameters were studied at birth and again at 1 month (a total of 18 parameters). There are a number of covariables, and these have not been accounted for in the analysis. 3. To be useful as a predictor of ROP, the factor is ideally identifiable at birth or at least on comparative follow‐up evaluation.
