contraindicated in neurosurgery. It is not clear why Celtikci et al. did not prefer IPC within the first 48 hours of operation instead of compression stockings. Several studies have shown that the combination of LMWH and compression stockings is more efficacious than compression stockings alone (5). In Celtikci et al.’s study, they seem to have used only compression stockings during the first 48 hours of operation.
