The present study was aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of different extracts of Alpinia galanga in wistar albino rats. In this study, both acute and sub-acute inflammation models were used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of Alpinia galanga. In acute model, carrageenan was used to induce inflammation in rat hind paw and in subacute inflammation, cotton pellets induced granuloma was performed. The extracts have significantly (p = 0.05) decrease in paw edema volume and wet weight and dry weight of Cotton pellets as compared to the untreated vehicle control group.
