the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the present realities of the Russia-Ukraine conflict as well as emergency situations in the Taiwan straits Monkeypox (MPX), an infectious disease of international concern, has been spreading in a non-traditional pattern with the major bulk of patients in Europe and the USA, although other areas of the world are not immune to MPX infection. The absence of any specific preventive vaccine for MPX along with the present war in Ukraine and the volatile status of the South China region would interrupt global efforts to contain the spread of the virus once it reaches the developing and resource-constrained countries of Asia and Africa. Under these prevailing realities, the responsibilities of the global health care authorities are multifactorial.
