Abstract: Hierarchical self-assembly is achieved using a visible light triggered photoreaction. A pro-gelator, α-diketone-2,3-didecyloxyanthracene, is photoconverted into a low molecular weight gelator, 2,3-didecyloxyanthracene (DDOA), that self-assembles into nanofibers.
