Abstract: A novel copper-catalyzed cascade trifluoromethylation/cyclization of 2-(3-arylpropioloyl)benzaldehydes is described, allowing a direct access to structurally diverse trifluoromethylated naphthoquinones under mild reaction conditions. It represents the first trans-acyltrifluoromethylation of internal alkynes. read more here.
