Abstract: ZnSe nanobelts were prepared by a thermal evaporation method, and inverted ZnSe/CdSe core–shell nanobelts were formed by coating a narrow-gap CdSe shell outside the as-prepared wide-gap ZnSe nanobelt through a cation replacement process.
