Abstract: An efficient tandem intermolecular one-pot aldol condensation/aza-addition reaction of 2-methyl-3-carbamoylpyrroles and aldehydes was developed for the synthesis of 2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridin-4(5H)-ones.
