Abstract: Indolizidine and quinolizidine derivatives are readily assembled from l-proline or (±)-pipecolic acid and β-ketoaldehydes via a decarboxylative annulation process. These reactions are promoted by acetic acid and involve azomethine ylides as reactive intermediates. read more here.
