Abstract: Several small studies indicate the sulphonamide component of the drug sulfasalazine lowers HbA1c. We investigated reduction of HbA1c following incident prescription of sulfasalazine and related aminosalicylates, lacking the sulphonamide group, in an observational cohort. read more here.
