Abstract: Selective semihydrogenation of alkynes with the Mn(I) alkyl catalyst fac-[Mn(dippe)(CO)3(CH2CH2CH3)] (dippe = 1,2-bis(di-iso-propylphosphino)ethane) as a precatalyst is described.
