Abstract: ATP8A2, an ATP-dependent phosphatidylserine flippase, generates and maintains membrane lipid asymmetry and has been linked to severe neurodegenerative disorders. The C-terminus of ATP8A2 promotes proper protein folding and regulates phosphatidylserine flippase activity.
