Abstract: Abstract Highly step- and atom-economic synthetic route to 3,4,6,7,8,9-hexaphenyl-1H-benzo[g]isochromen-1-one (1) based on the rhodium catalyzed reaction of terephthalic acid with diphenylacetylene was developed.
