Abstract: A method was developed to prepare previously unreported 8-amino-substituted (2-hydroxy-3-p-methoxyphenoxypropyl-1)theophyllines as potential biologically active compounds. Their physicochemical properties; acute toxicity; and diuretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antihypoxic activity were studied.
