Abstract: Abstract Reaction of organoiridium(III)-2-phenylpyridine complex, [Ir(ppy)2(μ-Cl)]2 (ppy = 2-phenylpyridinato-C2,N), with 4-(2-bromophenyl)-1,2,3-thiodiazole (X) or 4-(2-bromophenyl)-1,2,3-selenadiazole (Y) in CH2Cl2 yields to [Ir(ppy)2Cl(X)]·CH2Cl2 (1) or [Ir(ppy)2Cl(Y)] (2), respectively.
