Abstract: HIGHLIGHTS Recombinant E. coli can produce mono-rhamnolipid and di-rhamnolipid biosurfactants. Rhamnolipid congeners were identified using HRMS. Di-rhamnolipid has lower surface tension and CMC than mono-rhamnolipid. Rhamnolipid production have been optimized to enhance rhamnolipid yield.
