Abstract: Strategies to reduce platelet (PLT) bacterial contamination include donor screening, skin disinfection, sample diversion, bacterial culture, pathogen reduction (PR), and day‐of‐transfusion tests. We report bacterial sepsis following a pathogen‐reduced PLT transfusion. read more here.
