Abstract: Condensation of 2-het(aryl)-1,1-dimethoxycarbonylethenes with acetylaminomalonic acid ester afforded (3R*,4S*)-4-(4-methoxyphenyl)-, (3R*,4S*)-4-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-, (3R*,4S*)-4-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-, (3R*,4S*)-4-(2-furyl)-, (3R*,4S*)-4-(indol-3-yl)-, (3R*,4S*)-4-(1-methylindol-3-yl)-, and (3R*,4S*)-4-(1-benzylindol-3-yl)-3,5,5-tris(methoxycarbonyl)-2-pyrrolidones. read more here.
