Abstract: Abstract 2-Substituted hydrazinecarbothioamides and N,2-disubstituted hydrazinecarbothioamides react in high yield with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) to give 4-oxo-Z-(thiazolidin-5-ylidene) acetate derivatives.
