Abstract: Several trinuclear ferrocenes are obtained by Friedel-Crafts reaction of octamethylferrocene with ferrocenoyl chloride and subsequent modifications. 1,1'-Diferrocenoyloctamethylferrocene (3) is transformed to the divinyl derivative (4a) by reaction with MeLi and AlCl3.
